The Dia Foundation in New York City commissioned a Swiss artist to create a monument to an Italian Communist philosopher, and site it in the middle of a Bronx public housing project. With this compelling set-up, the film unspools the unpredictable dynamics between artist, audience, residents, and art lovers.
